2025 Fire in the Mountains Scholarship
We’re selecting 10 people for our 2025 Scholarship program. Each participant will receive one General Admission festival ticket and one General Admission camping ticket in exchange for helping with Fire in the Mountains conservation efforts. Please read the below description and then answer the application questions as thoughtfully as possible.
Program Overview
The Fire in the Mountains Scholarship Program provides festival access to 10 individuals who would not be able to attend the event based on financial hardships, creating an opportunity for conservation stewardship in exchange for festival participation. This innovative program combines music festival culture with meaningful environmental action through partnership with the Glacier-Two Medicine Alliance, a community-based conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the natural ecosystems on the Crown of the Continent. The Alliance focuses on invasive species management, native habitat restoration, and environmental education through collaborative partnerships with local communities, schools, NPS, NFS, Tribe, and volunteers. This year, volunteer conservation efforts are more important than ever as federal programs, including the National Forest Service (NFS) and National Park Service (NPS) have faced drastic budget cuts and funding freezes. These reductions have significantly limited the capacity for professional land management and invasive species control, making community-driven initiatives like the Weeds Scholarship Program essential for maintaining the health of our public lands and natural areas.
How It Works
Selected scholarship recipients commit to two 4-hour conservation work sessions focused on invasive species removal, primarily targeting spotted knapweed. Participants work alongside experienced volunteers from the Glacier-Two Medicine Alliance, learning proper identification and removal techniques while contributing to the long-term health of the local ecosystem.
