Bear Safety Course
Bear courses will be offered and every camper at FITM will be required to take one of the courses offered. This will be a fun interactive course. It’s an opportunity full of pertinent and necessary information teaching you how to safely and responsibly be in bear habitat. We will have dates, times, and locations of the courses as the festival dates get closer.
Bear Attractants
Anything with a scent – food, coolers, garbage, beer, soda, glass bottles (even unopened), scented candles, chapstick, toiletries, pet food, dirty utensils, pots, pans, toothpaste, sunscreen, etc. Bears have an incredibly acute sense of smell and want to explore and get into anything that has a scent. Your first order of safety is not to attract them in the first place.

OUR COMMITMENT
TO OUR GROWING COMMUNITY
Fire In The Mountains 2026, at the Red Eagle Campground on the Blackfeet Nation, will be an event without alcohol. This decision was made with respect to the wishes of our hosts and to unify under the banner of suicide prevention and mental health, and it is a decision we have become deeply aligned with.
Our aims have always been to build an event that places value on music, nature, and connection above all else, and to have a positive impact in the community that has welcomed us. We stand behind the decision of our Blackfeet partners that all of these aims can be obtained without the presence of alcohol. The Blackfeet community has embraced Fire In The Mountains. We expect you to respect their lands.
